… aim to open our doors to our first residents in Spring 2018.
The property was built in 1860 and still has it’s period doors and panelling, plus several stunning marble fireplaces.
The gorgeous garden was described in the particulars as ‘parkland’ so is plenty big enough for al fresco dining or for visitors to find a private space for contemplation, reading or drawing.
STUDIO FAIRE will have three bedrooms and two bathrooms for guests (sleeps 5) plus a private ‘flat’ for us. A shared kitchen for all, so guests can be self catering, keeping costs low and independence high, and the living room (pictured above) and dining room, already affectionately named ‘Gallery I’ and Gallery II’ can double up as space for events.
That being said, the house is right in the centre of the really active town of Nérac, in the far south of the Lot-et-Garonne, close to the Gers, in the heart of Gascony. Just 25 minutes drive from Agen, the region has good transportation networks with the Bordeaux-Toulouse motorway passing through and a TGV train station offering regular journeys to Bordeaux and Toulouse (both of which have great airports).
With history in abundance, the best weekly market in the area, a riverside walk and sprawling surrounding countryside, several nice bars, restaurants and shops to hang out in, a great theatre/music venue … and much, much more during the summer months, Nérac is a spot on location for creative folk to fill their boots with inspiration!
