Costs

We currently have an ‘early bird’ discounted rate for artists residencies in 2018.
Apply before the end of 2017 for a residency in 2018 to benefit from this discount.

Please apply at least four months before the start date.
First deadline: 31 October 2017 to be our first resident in March 2018.

Need help funding your residency?
You may wish to consider our work exchange offer, or we could assist you with fundraising. See details below.

In Spring and Autumn, residencies last for four weeks and begin on the first Thursday of each month.
In Summer, residencies last for two weeks and begin on the first and third Thursday of each month.

Artists may book to stay for up to three months at a time without a break in their visit.
(For example, three months may be Thursday 2 March – Wednesday 24 May).

Applicants should identify their preferred start date on their application (or, ideally, multiple date options if there is some flexibility).

Need help funding your residency?
We have two options for those who need help funding their residency.
Work exchange or fundraising.

Work exchange (half price residencies):
There is plenty to do here at Studio Faire, including cooking, cleaning, decorating, general maintenance, administration and marketing. If you would be willing to help us out for the equivalent of 15 hours per week (this can be crammed into a few days or trickled out over the week) you can reduce your cost of stay by 50%. If you have specific skills such as fluency in both French and English or a trade such as carpentry or plastering, we will be happy to discuss reducing your residency cost further. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss this option.

Fundraising:
You may be able to fund your residency by applying for a grant from your local arts council.

Crowdfunding

If you have a specific project in mind and you feel that you will be able to convince friends and family that this project will benefit your practice, you may be able to raise the money for your residency through a crowdfunding campaign.

Having run a successful campaign for Studio Faire in 2016, we would be happy to help and advise you with this process should you wish.

There are plenty of Crowdfunding websites to choose from. These are rated the top three:

https://www.kickstarter.com/

https://www.indiegogo.com/

Please contact us if you’d like to discuss these funding options further or would like our assistance with your application or campaign.
