Because we have both been working in the creative field all our lives, we understand that creative practitioners are often on a low income, therefore, Studio Faire has been set up with this in mind and aims to cater for artists who enjoy their independence and prefer minimum ‘frills’ in order to keep costs down.

However, if you would like help to raise funds for your residency, get in touch for a chat, we can assist you with fundraising. You could also consider our Work exchange option for a half price residency. Full details below.

We offer year-round residencies from 1 – 8 weeks long.

Because every season in the Lot-et-Garonne offers up different inspiration and all creative people are looking for different experiences, we keep things simple with our prices remaining the same throughout the year.

We prefer our residents to arrive on Thursday between 5-8pm and leave on Thursday before midday where possible*.

This is to assist us with our bookings but also to give you time to settle yourself in on your first night. We can take you to the supermarket on Friday (if you like) and we can all sit together on Friday evening and enjoy a meal together (provided and cooked by us of course!). You will also be able to walk up to the weekly market on Saturday morning to fill your cupboard with fresh, local produce so you can then focus on your work in the week ahead!

*If this arrival day or time is inconvenient for you, please let us know and we will endevour to agree on an alternative.

Below you will find rates per person per week and rates per person for four weeks.

You will also find rates for two sharing per week and rates for two sharing for four weeks.

You can apply for multiple weeks from a minimum of one week up to a maximum of eight weeks. We offer substantial discounts for those wishing to have a longer stay so if you book four weeks you will get a week free or eight weeks you will get two weeks free. We can also organise a public showing of your work at the end of your stay. We will discuss this with you further to agree on the best format.

Need help funding your residency?

We have two options for those who need help funding their residency.
Work exchange or fundraising.

Work exchange (half price residencies):
There is plenty to do here at Studio Faire, including cooking, cleaning, decorating, general maintenance, administration and marketing. If you would be willing to help us out for the equivalent of 15 hours per week (this can be crammed into a few days or trickled out over the week) you can reduce your cost of stay by 50%. If you have specific skills such as fluency in both French and English or a trade such as carpentry or plastering, we will be happy to discuss reducing your residency cost further. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss this option.

Fundraising through Grants or Crowdfunding

You may be able to fund your residency by applying for a grant from your local arts council. We are happy to help you with your application. Please follow the relevant link below then contact us to discuss this further.

If you have a specific project in mind and you feel that you will be able to convince friends and family that this project will benefit your practice, you may be able to raise the money for your residency through a crowdfunding campaign.

Having run a successful campaign for Studio Faire in 2016, we would be happy to help and advise you with this process should you wish.

There are plenty of Crowdfunding websites to choose from. These are rated the top three: (we used this one for our campaign)

Please contact us if you’d like to discuss these funding options further or would like our assistance with your application or campaign.
